Compare the 28 cm Fennec Fox and 33 cm Liberty Cuddlington Bear on size, character, and price to pick the right soft toy for your child.
Quick answer
Choose the Fennec Fox Soft Toy if you want a smaller, adventurous companion with a desert-explorer theme; choose the Liberty Cuddlington Bear if you prefer a larger, parade-loving bear that feels more substantial to hug. Both are designed by OB in Australia with high-quality materials, so the decision comes down to size and personality.
Size and presence: 28 cm vs 33 cm
At 28 cm (11 inches), the Fennec Fox is compact enough to tuck into a bag or car seat, making it a good take-along friend. The Liberty Cuddlington Bear measures 33 cm (13 inches), so it fills a child’s arms more fully and may be easier for very young children to grip and cuddle. Neither size is specified as a safety rating, so always supervise play and check the toy’s condition before giving it to a baby.
Personality and play themes
The Fennec Fox’s bio describes it as a “Desert Explorer” who likes sirocco winds and cool night trots, which can spark imaginative play about animals and habitats. The Liberty Cuddlington Bear is a “Fireworks Coordinator” who likes parades and the Fourth of July, making it a natural fit for patriotic or celebration-themed play. These bios are part of the toy’s character, not a guarantee of a child’s interest, but they offer a starting point for choosing based on your child’s favorite stories.
Price and value
The Fennec Fox is catalog-priced at USD 27.60 (compared to a USD 40.00 comparison price), while the Liberty Cuddlington Bear is USD 19.80 (compared to USD 30.00). The bear offers a lower absolute price and a larger size, which may appeal to budget-conscious shoppers. The fox costs more but provides a distinct animal theme. Both are currently discounted, but prices can change, so check the product pages for the latest.
Key trade-offs to weigh
- Size vs portability: The 33 cm Liberty Cuddlington Bear offers more to hug, while the 28 cm Fennec Fox is easier to carry on outings. If your child often brings a toy in the car or stroller, the fox’s smaller size may be more practical.
- Price vs character: The bear is priced lower (USD 19.80 vs USD 27.60), but the fox has a distinct desert-explorer theme that might be worth the extra cost for some families. Decide whether budget or a specific animal theme matters more to your child.
- Play theme vs neutrality: The bear’s fireworks and parade theme is specific and festive, while the fox’s explorer theme is broader and nature-focused. Consider which theme aligns with your child’s interests or the occasion.
