A practical FAQ on the Mini Mate Kobi Koala 5" soft toy: size, safety testing, materials, shipping, and whether this small koala plush suits babies or older kids.

Quick answer

The Mini Mate Kobi Koala 5" is a palm-sized, independently safety-tested plush that suits small hands and small budgets, but it is not a full-size cuddle toy. Buy it as a collectible or first soft toy, not as a replacement for a larger koala.

Why the 5-inch size changes how you use it

At roughly palm size, this koala works best as a take-along companion, a shelf collectible, or a first soft toy for small hands. It will not fill a crib or serve as a main bedtime cuddle partner the way a 20-inch plush does. If you are shopping for a child who already carries a larger lovey, expect this one to be a secondary toy rather than the favorite.

The small format also means the toy disappears easily into bags, car seats, and toy bins. That is convenient for travel but worth planning for if you want it to stay clean and findable.

What the catalog does and does not tell you

OB Designs lists premium, ultra-soft materials and independent safety testing, which are the two facts that matter most for a plush intended for young children. The catalog does not list a specific age rating, fiber content, or washing instructions for this model. Treat those as open questions: check the hang tag when it arrives, and follow the care label rather than guessing.

The product description also frames the Mini Mates as palm-sized collectibles inspired by a series. That positioning explains the low price and small scale, but it does not guarantee the toy is designed as a baby product. If you need a plush specifically marketed for infants, confirm the age guidance before buying.

Price, shipping, and returns in context

At the catalog price of USD 11.52 against a comparison price of USD 18.00, this is an inexpensive way to try the OB Designs koala character before committing to a larger version. Orders ship from the US warehouse within 48 hours, and free shipping applies at $95 or more, so a single Mini Mate will usually carry a shipping charge unless you bundle it with other items.

The 30-day full-refund return policy lowers the risk of trying the size, but it does not replace checking the toy against your own expectations on arrival. Open the package, inspect the stitching and materials, and decide quickly rather than letting the window pass.

Mini Mate Kobi Koala FAQ

Is the Mini Mate Kobi Koala 5" a good koala soft toy for babies?: It is independently safety tested and made from ultra-soft materials, but the catalog does not state an age rating. Check the hang tag or ask the store before giving it to an infant, and follow any age guidance on the packaging. Treat safety testing and age suitability as separate questions.
How big is the 5-inch koala soft toy in real terms?: It measures about 5 inches / 12 cm, roughly palm-sized. Expect a collectible or take-along toy, not a crib or bedtime cuddle plush. Match the size to the job: travel and display, not main comfort toy.
What does the small koala plush cost, and when does shipping become free?: The catalog price is USD 11.52, compared with a listed comparison price of USD 18.00. Orders ship from the US warehouse within 48 hours, and free shipping applies at $95 or more, so bundle with other items if you want to avoid a shipping charge. A single Mini Mate rarely reaches the free-shipping threshold alone.
Can I return it if the size is not right?: Yes. OB Designs offers a full refund within 30 days if you are not in love with the purchase. Inspect the toy when it arrives and start the return promptly if it does not suit. Use the 30-day window as a size trial, not a long-term storage option.
How should I clean the Mini Mate Kobi Koala?: The catalog does not list washing instructions for this model. Follow the care label on the toy or packaging, and avoid guessing at machine washing until you have confirmed the guidance. Care instructions are model-specific; read the label first.
